The piece originally opened by saying a federal judge had sentenced her last week. The sentencing was on 10 September 2026, the day before the piece was published. The source article never used that phrase; it was added by the model that wrote the piece, and the automated checks in place at the time did not look for it, because they only verified claims the writer had submitted for checking.

The sentence now carries the date the source gives. Two checks were added as a result: any date stated relative to now must appear in a source, and a second pass now reads the finished article against the sources looking for anything they do not support.

If a piece here is inaccurate, out of date, or describes charges that have since been dropped or resolved in the person's favour, that is worth fixing and it will be fixed. Corrections are recorded on this page rather than made silently.
